Gauging the interest in an open source project is often very difficult. People can be downloading and using your software without any developers being aware. Additionally, many projects may not have users in a direct sense but do provide other library and application developers with solutions to common challenging problems. While, we cannot say with certainty how many people are downloading HPX or even thumbing through our source code, one metric that we can point to is the “star” feature on GitHub. Recently the HPX GitHub repository surpassed 500 stars. We know that this number does not compare to the thousands that extremely successful projects have received, however, we are proud to know that a project as specialized as HPX is starting to gain traction in the community. We are excited to see this metric grow as the library continues to develop and mature!
